Float On

I love jellyfish. I'm a bit obsessed with them actually. Whenever we see them at aquariums I have to spend at least 5-10 minutes watching them. I get lost with watching them effortlessly float around, sofly colliding into each other like polite bumper cars.

My favorite is watching one jellyfish's never ending long red tentacles get tangled up with another jellyfish and then they just slowly pull away from each other, tentacles unraveling with ease.

I put together a video collection from the last aquarium trip for Tim and thought I would share the love. Not quite Jacques Cousteau, but you get the point.

Enjoy!

Fraternal Instincts Recap

Our opening went very smoothly and we had a fantastic turnout! Thanks to everyone that came out and shared the big night with Allyson and I. Special thanks to Maggie and Kelly at Youngblood and DJ Chris Devoe!

Below are some photos taken by Myself, Tim, Katie Cakes and Allyson herself, to document the event. As promised, I've also paired up the actual artwork for those who were unable to be there in person. There are also photos of Tim helping Allyson and I build frames. Thanks Honey!

Other exciting news, art blogger Madison from Curio + Abyss featured Fraternal Instinct on her site! Nice! The piece also features an interview with both Allyson and I which delves a bit deeper behind the show. Thanks Madison! It was a pleasure working with you and I found a new blog to keep up with :)

Fraternal Instincts

Well, we did it. Allyson and I will finally finish work on our colaborative photography show this week! It's taken several months and a lot of editing our photos but we are finishing up the final details this weekend and will be hanging our work this week. (Insert Big Sigh Here). I have to say that as far as putting together an entire 22 photo show, things went remarkably smooth (knock on wood). I seriously could not have worked with a better person. Allyson is so easy to get along with and really made the experience that much better. Without her I would still have my head between my knees, breathing into a paper bag. Working with the right person is way better than working by myself. Just like Doing It.

Our show opens Sat. Oct. 4th and if you are going to be in the Atlanta area, head on over to Youngblood Gallery from 7-10 and say hello! If you can't make it because you happen to live in say, Brooklyn (Court, I'm talking to you! :) ) then have no fear, I will be posting the artwork online. Wish us luck!

Blah...

It's Monday, and that's all there is to say about that.

Hello Again...

Hey, its been a while. I've been spending my time lately catching up on some good old fashion reading, figuring out some life things, organizing this and that, working and well...basically just getting my shit together ( I have lots of notes on that last thing if you are ever in need of instruction or just friendly advice).

I've been considering giving up a few things like caffeine and sugar as well as that whole sticking babies on spikes thing (really, its just getting kind of old, don't you think?). So far...not so good. How am I to be expected to give up caffeine without a cup of coffee to help get me through?! This is not going to be a fun week.

Tattoo Updates and New Stuff

It's been forever, I know, but here it is! The completed tattoo on my back! I really love it, though I don't see it very much because my head seems to only want to face forward...weird huh? Malia is quite the artist!

Futhermore, the addiction continues spreads to my arm. I even included Snugglepuss in on the action!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TRUMAN!!!

I'm actually about 2 weeks late with this one but he wanted to keep it low key this year. Seems he's in denial about the whole turning 1 thing so I thought I'd cut him a break. That, and he threatened to stop sleeping on my pillow with me at night if I told anyone. It's ok Truman, you don't look a day over 8 months!

Again With The Rummaging!

While once again looking for something else I found a few polaroids that I thought were interesting. One is from my rug rat years and the other is from one of my photo classes. No snarky comments this time, just pure nostalgia.

I Wouldn't Believe It Unless I Saw It...

I'm not one to go around telling people what to do (though I'm sure Tim has other opinions about that) but you really must, must watch this video. It's a good 8.5 minutes long but really worth it. It's just simply amazing, really. This guy deserves a huge Costco size bag of peanuts.
