At Last

"You are mine...at last"

In celebration of our two year anniversary I began rummaging through all the photos we took on our honeymoon to Italy. The trip itself was amazing, absolutely lovely! If it hadn't been for our lack of cash flow we most likely would not have returned.

While sorting through all the photos I came across a few that made me seriously consider packing up Tim and becoming a Tuscanian. A very tempting thought :)

Anyway, here is my favorite of the old photos so far. Enjoy!

Fraternal Instincts Recap

Our opening went very smoothly and we had a fantastic turnout! Thanks to everyone that came out and shared the big night with Allyson and I. Special thanks to Maggie and Kelly at Youngblood and DJ Chris Devoe!

Below are some photos taken by Myself, Tim, Katie Cakes and Allyson herself, to document the event. As promised, I've also paired up the actual artwork for those who were unable to be there in person. There are also photos of Tim helping Allyson and I build frames. Thanks Honey!

Other exciting news, art blogger Madison from Curio + Abyss featured Fraternal Instinct on her site! Nice! The piece also features an interview with both Allyson and I which delves a bit deeper behind the show. Thanks Madison! It was a pleasure working with you and I found a new blog to keep up with :)

Fraternal Instincts

Well, we did it. Allyson and I will finally finish work on our colaborative photography show this week! It's taken several months and a lot of editing our photos but we are finishing up the final details this weekend and will be hanging our work this week. (Insert Big Sigh Here). I have to say that as far as putting together an entire 22 photo show, things went remarkably smooth (knock on wood). I seriously could not have worked with a better person. Allyson is so easy to get along with and really made the experience that much better. Without her I would still have my head between my knees, breathing into a paper bag. Working with the right person is way better than working by myself. Just like Doing It.

Our show opens Sat. Oct. 4th and if you are going to be in the Atlanta area, head on over to Youngblood Gallery from 7-10 and say hello! If you can't make it because you happen to live in say, Brooklyn (Court, I'm talking to you! :) ) then have no fear, I will be posting the artwork online. Wish us luck!

Polaroids!

While looking for something (I can't even remember what it was now) I came across a box of polaroids from one of our shoots and Behold!, there were still a few unused ones! So, I took advantage of my find and shot what was left. Here are some of the results...

I've really been pushing myself to do more drawings and photographs lately. My goal is to work on at least one thing a day. Having just finished the last page of my smaller sketchbook (which I will tell you is a hell of an accomplishment for me. Seems I have somewhat of a commitment problem when it comes to sketchbooks, I never get further than half way when I decide that I need a fresh start.) This is a photo of both my work space and newly begun sketchbook. Here's to new beginnings, wish me luck!

Now that we only have two cats (Stewie went to live with aunt Katie for awhile to spend time with Arlo) Calvin and Truman are really chumming it up, sometimes in a very gay way...not that there's anything wrong with that.

I will have more tomorrow...don't want to give everything away on the first date you know. Cheers!
